About the Committee
The Apprenticeship Education Articulation Committee will foster relationships and collaboration, enhance communication, and share information among partners within the skilled trades and apprenticeship education system in Alberta. Through these efforts, the committee will help to facilitate learner pathways and mobility, as well as greater integration within the transfer system for apprenticeship education. The committee may also provide the system or Advanced Education with recommendations or responses related to learner mobility.
The Committee’s objectives may include:

Providing a forum for exchanging information and enhancing collaboration and coordination among institutions for recognition of apprenticeship education programming.

Promoting program and period/course equivalency where appropriate, for apprenticeship education.

Addressing learner pathways and admissions issues related to secondary to post-secondary articulation and business/industry articulation, where appropriate.

Clarifying differences and similarities among various post-secondary institutions offering admissions and transfer related to apprenticeship education to assist students in planning their studies.

Assisting in development of transfer decisions between institutions for apprenticeship education programs.

The committee and its membership are currently under development.
The committee's first meeting is planned for March 5, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. MST via Zoom. More information will be shared here on the committee's website following their initial meeting.
