Other Partners
Canadian Association of Prior Learning Assessment (CAPLA)
CAPLA is a non-profit organization that provides expertise, advocacy and support for the development of Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR/RPL) in Canada.
CAPLA helps Alberta build relationships with current leaders and learn about developments in the area of recognition of prior learning. This includes information about supports for diverse learners and possible responses to related issues, such as tools and criteria to help with consistent assessments and reporting.
Alberta Post-Secondary Student Leaders and Student Groups
Student leaders provide important input and feedback about student mobility needs and experiences:
- Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC)
- Council of Alberta University Students (CAUS)
- Alberta Graduate Provincial Advocacy Council (ab-GPAC)
Government of Alberta Ministries
ACAT works with several ministries to ensure student mobility actions are consistent with government policies and direction, and to help us create pathways opportunities for all Alberta learners:
K-12 System Stakeholders
K-12 system stakeholders provide valuable perspectives about Alberta's continually-evolving educational landscape.
- Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA)
- Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA)
- College of Alberta School Superintendents (CASS)
Collaborations
ACAT collaborates on an ongoing basis with the Alberta Registrars' Association and Registrars' Offices through its Strategic Contact Persons.
ACAT also collaborates with the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) and with the Pan-Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (PCCAT).
One key initiative involved the development and maintenance of a national, searchable online resource for Canadian registrar and pathway practitioners and policy developers. Explore the ARUCC PCCAT Transcript and Transfer Guide.
Another key initiative involves a pilot project regarding trusted electronic data exchange and a learner credential wallet. Explore the ARUCC National Network and MyCreds.ca.
