Partners in Student Mobility
The Alberta transfer system and ACAT were developed to emphasize partnership-building and collaboration. ACAT provides oversight for learner pathways and mobility throughout the advanced learning system, with a focus on post-secondary admission and transfer. Its partners support this work in the following ways:
The Government of Alberta supports ACAT’s mandate and work by providing a secretariat that manages transfer system operations, including student mobility information, websites and tools
Institutions appoint Contact Persons that work with ACAT on addressing shared priorities
Council and the Secretariat support and facilitate student mobility efforts led by member institutions, to foster a system of institutional collaboration. For example, ACAT works closely with institutions on program area Articulation Committees and Council subcommittees, to further student mobility throughout the province.
ACAT supports Campus Alberta and contributes to its goals of an accessible, affordable, quality and sustainable post-secondary system in Alberta that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration. ACAT also supports Advanced Education's adult learning system principles of accessibility, affordability, quality, accountability and coordination.
